കോൺഗ്രസിൽ നിന്ന് രാജിവെച്ച പ്രമുഖ വനിതാ നേതാവ് സുഷ്മിത ദേവ് തൃണമൂൽ കോൺഗ്രസിൽ ചേർന്നു. തൃണമൂൽ കോൺഗ്രസ് ജനറൽ സെക്രട്ടറി അഭിഷേക് ബാനർജി സുഷ്മിതയെ പാർട്ടിയിലേക്ക് സ്വീകരിച്ചു.

അതേസമയം സുഷ്മിത ദേവിന്റെ രാജിക്ക് പിന്നാലെ നേതൃത്വത്തിനെതിരെ രൂക്ഷ വിമർശനവുമായി മുതിർന്ന നേതാവ് കപിൽ സിബൽ രംഗത്തെത്തി.
